Why schedule tribes in India is still marginalized? Is it really Amritkaal?

According to 2011 census , Schedule tribes(STs) population in India was about 104million ,which is divided into 705 recognised ethnic group. STs comprises 8.6% of total population of India. In Loksabha ,there are 47 seats are reserved for schedule tribes, which comprises a significant amount of representation. But why STs are still underperformed in various socio-economic indicators?

In a recent report of Lancet Regional Health-Southeast Asia ,out of 129 indicators STs are underperformed in various. Mortality rate under five is alarmingly high in STs that is 50 out of 1000,it means out of 1000 ,50 childrens could not complete age of five years. 40% of the ST children under five are stunted and underweight. This report comprises the data between 2016-2021.

And it reveals the truth that there is significant rise in Blood pressure aged 15-49 ST people. 7.5% rise in blood pressure among men and 8.9% among women. Similarly worst situation is there in terms of anaemia, malnutrition and insufficient vaccination.

Question is that – although STs have proper representation in every sphere of governance and we proudly said that Out president of India also belongs to tribal community, then in the Aazadi ka Amritkaal, why the situation of tribals are getting worsen?
